Conselho Constitucional confirma o anúncio da validação dos resultados eleitorais esta segunda-feira

The Constitutional Council (CC) has confirmed the announcement of the validation of the election results from last October for tomorrow (23). The public session will take place at the Joaquim Chissano International Conference Center at 3pm.

According to a note from the CC and to which MZNews had access to, the session will mark the end of a period of "suspense" over the results previously announced by the National Electoral Commission (CNE), giving victory to Frelimo, the ruling party, and its presidential candidate, Daniel Chapo, with more than 70%.

When announcing these election results on October 24, the president of the CNE, Dom Carlos Matsinhe, highlighted the fact that 87% of the notices and minutes of the district election commissions had been approved by consensus.

The Constitutional Council is Mozambique's highest body in matters of constitutional and electoral law.
