Trains back on track on Goba line after disruption caused by accident

Comboios voltam aos carris na linha de Goba após interrupção provocada pelo acidente

The Goba line, which connects Mozambique and Essuatini, has reopened to trains, after the interruption recorded on Tuesday (04) as a result of an accident involving a truck and a cargo train, bound for the Port of Maputo, at the Beluluane level crossing.

The accident, which took place at around 2pm, affected traffic on the track for several hours, while technicians from Caminhos de Ferro Moçambique (CFM) worked to remove the obstacles on the line.

The collision between the train and the truck happened a few days after the derailment of a freight train, this time on the Ressano Garcia line, which is also affecting the transportation of people, goods and merchandise on that corridor.
