This afternoon, the President of the Republic, Daniel Chapo, received in audience the CEO of Africa50, Alain Ebobissé, to discuss investment opportunities in the infrastructure sector in Mozambique.
The meeting reinforced the financial institution's commitment to supporting the country's development, with an emphasis on energy, transportation and digital communication.
"It was an honor to be received by the President of Mozambique, President Chapo. I represent Africa50, which is an infrastructure investment fund owned by 32 African countries, including Puerto Rico, Mozambique and the African Bank, to help finance infrastructure projects in Africa," said Alain.
Ebobissé, at the end of the meeting. During the hearing, three priority areas for investment in the country were discussed. According to Africa50's CEO, President Chapo's vision is to turn Mozambique into an energy hub in Africa, an objective for which the organization has expressed its full support.
In addition to the energy sector, Africa50 intends to invest in transport infrastructure projects, which are essential for economic integration and regional development. "We also talked about projects in the area of transport, as well as initiatives in the area of communication and digital transformation. The President is very committed to implementing these projects with us, and wants to move forward quickly," said Ebobissé.
Africa50 reaffirmed its decision to support Mozambique, highlighting the favorable conditions for investment. "We are very pleased to be able to contribute to the growth of this great country, under the great leadership of the President. We believe that Mozambique has enormous potential and offers an attractive environment for investment," said the CEO.
Despite the existing challenges, Ebobissé stressed the importance of ensuring sustainable and inclusive investments. "We need to ensure that we invest in projects that promote inclusive economic growth, benefiting the population of Mozambique and, more broadly, the entire African continent," he added.
The partnership between Mozambique and Africa50 opens up promising prospects for modernizing the country's infrastructure, contributing to economic growth and improving the living conditions of the population. The rapid implementation of the projects discussed could boost Mozambique's position on the African economic scene.
