The President of the Republic, Daniel Chapo, congratulates all Mozambican women on April 7, the day dedicated to this social group.
She said that since the formation of the Women's Detachment on March 4, Mozambican women have stood out in the struggle and in the process of political and economic development.
She also highlighted the role of women in the process of educating society and in the formation of men.
"Women continue to be a reference in the transmission of ethical values, citizenship and integrity," she said during her speech paying tribute to all Mozambican women.
He said that the emancipation of women was the result of public policies, with an increase in girls' participation rates, which was at 49%. He pointed to the reduction in maternal mortality and infant mortality thanks to the construction of more health infrastructures, including the mother-in-waiting home.
She highlighted the fact that women are occupying leadership positions in the Assembly of the Republic, the courts, the central government, provincial and district governments, municipalities and the economy, as well as in commerce and agricultural production.
Chapo was speaking earlier in Nangade, Cabo Delgado, during the official launch of the Flame of Unity march, one of the central milestones of the celebrations for the Golden Jubilee of National Independence on June 25.
