The Minister for the Sea, Inland Waterways and Fisheries, Lídia Cardoso, said that the gas industry currently has one of the highest growth rates in global production with around 13%.
"Cabo Delgado has started the exploration and export of liquefied natural gas from the south coral platform and currently has one of the highest global production growth rates with 13% in 2024," said Lídia Cardoso on Wednesday during the official opening of the National Industry and Energy Conference.
She also highlighted the strategic importance of Cabo Delgado and its resources for the growth of gross domestic product in recent years.
Quoted by Zumbo FM, Lídia Cardoso also said that this is the right time to invest in Cabo Delgado Province and consecutively speed up the resumption of all the anchor projects, with emphasis on areas 1 and 4 of the Rovuma Basin, as well as promoting an image of stability and welcoming the biggest investments in the region, in the energy sector.
"It is a privilege for us to be part of this concerted movement to reaffirm the good conditions for operationalizing investments in Cabo Delgado, and to speed up the resumption of all the anchor projects, with emphasis on areas 1 and 4 of the Rovuma Basin.
This is undoubtedly the right time to promote the good image of stability as the host of the biggest investments in the region, in the energy sector and to mobilize public and private resources for the local development agenda, this is the right time to return and reinvest in Cabo Delgado," added the Minister for the Sea, Inland Waters and Fisheries, in statements reproduced by Zumbo FM.
