ADB reiterates support for power generation projects in Mozambique

This Wednesday in Maputo, the African Development Bank (AfDB) reiterated its commitment to continue supporting power generation projects in Mozambique.

This was stated by the AfDB's representative, Henry Baldeh, during the signing ceremony of the partnership agreements for the implementation of the Mphanda Nkuwa hydroelectric project.

"Rest assured that the ADB, as a partner in development and growth, will continue to support these government efforts for the provision of convenient energy and various areas of financial instruments, including guarantees and financial investment necessary to ensure the success of the project," said the representative, quoted by AIM.

The source also pointed out that "the ADB would like to reiterate its commitment as advisor to the project to position itself as a partner of the government in achieving its objectives, including achieving universal access to energy by 2030".

"We are committed partners and so we will continue to support your leadership and support the next phases of the project," he noted.
