Mozambique Revenue Authority wants to adopt electronic invoice experience from Cape Verde

Autoridade Tributária de Moçambique quer adoptar experiência da factura electrónica de Cabo Verde

The Mozambican Tax Authority yesterday expressed its desire to implement Cape Verde's experience in using the electronic invoice system, since that country is "very advanced" in this area.

According to Hugo Osvaldo Chicane, who is part of a delegation from the Mozambican Tax Authority that is visiting Praia, the capital of Cape Verde, to learn about the digital solutions that have been implemented, namely electronic solutions, "the experience is good, it's been beneficial".

"In fact, seeing things 'in situ' is better, and the team of trainers selected for the objective is also living up to expectations. It's a very interesting experience. We hope to take it and implement it after inviting Cape Verde to inaugurate our systems," said Hugo Osvaldo Chicane, quoted by Lusa.

Osvaldo Chicane explained that the visit by the Mozambican delegation was part of cooperation between the two countries, after learning that Cape Verde is already implementing electronic systems for collecting tax revenue, and is considered to be one of the first in Africa to have such systems.

"Cape Verde is very advanced indeed, especially in electronic invoicing. Now we're looking at the SAFT [standardized file for creating documents] module, but with 'e-invoice', which is already fully operational. That's what Mozambique is aiming for at the moment," he said.

"Mozambique, with its Tax Authority, also wants to implement these systems and saw this opportunity to come to Cape Verde to gather this experience. There is an urgent need for this. So the experience is for Mozambique to immediately implement a system with this experience that we are gathering here," added the source.
