The 50 young winners of the Pilot Phase of Agora Emprega are now known and will see their business plans financed to the tune of 1,500,000 Meticais after taking part in a competition involving more than three thousand young people from the city and province of Maputo.
The announcement was made a few days ago at the Polana Hotel by the Secretary of State for Youth and Employment, Oswaldo Peterburgo, and was attended by the Deputy Minister of Labor and Social Security, the Deputy Minister of Public Works, Housing and Water Resources and the head of Human Development Programs at the World Bank, among others.
In addition to the funding provided, with the support of the World Bank, the winning and selected young people had the opportunity to take part in training with the aim of imparting tools, knowledge and skills for financial management, human resources and production processes.
On the same occasion, the Secretary of State for Youth and Employment launched "Agora Emprega" with the aim of training 3,500 national companies. "And within these 3,500 companies, we're going to finance 500 companies, with a total value of 750 million Meticais already available," Peterburgo guaranteed during his speech.
According to the government official, Agora Emprega focuses on the growth and development of young people's companies through a Business Plan Competition.
Oswaldo Peterburgo explained that the initiative is aimed at all young Mozambicans aged between 18 and 35, with special attention to attracting women and empowering them, so that they can submit their applications to Agora Emprega on the website agoraemprega.seje.gov.mz. by January 30, 2023.
This opportunity aims to help micro, small and medium-sized enterprises grow and create job opportunities for young Mozambicans, as well as helping young entrepreneurs with a business idea to create a sustainable business.
