Frelimo members in the capital met this Saturday (09) in an extraordinary session to elect a new first secretary following the resignation of Rasaque Manhique, currently mayor of Maputo city.

In a closed meeting, António Niquice was elected Frelimo's new secretary in Maputo city, having won more than 85 votes.

Before this appointment, António Niquice was a member of parliament and chairman of the Assembly of the Republic's Planning and Budget Committee (CPO).
