The Chongoene Airport, located approximately 32 kilometers from the city of Xai-Xai, Gaza province, is already completed and ready for air operations. The President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, will proceed this Monday, to the inauguration of this infrastructure built from scratch.
Work began in October 2018 in the Nhacutse area along Regional Road 102.
The value of the investment is approximately 70 million dollars financed by China, in the form of a donation, and by the Mozambican government for complementary work.
The infrastructure has a passenger terminal, fire station, power station (next to the water tanks), cargo terminal, waste treatment station, fuel supply center and a sentry box.
