Adriano Maleiane destaca avanços nas parcerias público-privadas em Moçambique

Mozambique is making significant progress in the process of contracting, implementing and monitoring Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs).

This statement was made today, Thursday (04), by the Prime Minister, Adriano Maleiane, at the opening of the first Conference on PPPs, taking place in Maputo city.

The government official, quoted by NewsHe acknowledged the persistence of challenges that call for reflection on the improvement of the established mechanisms so that the PPP modality has an increasingly effective impact on the economy and the continuous improvement of the living conditions of Mozambicans.

"It is in this context that, during this conference, we hope that concrete suggestions and proposals will be presented to improve the Public-Private Partnership model, in terms of legislation, including mega-projects and business concessions," said Adriano Maleiane.

According to Maleiane, the aim is also to attract more investment under the PPP scheme, with a focus on the agricultural sector throughout its value chain, transport, logistics, energy, infrastructure (water supply, roads and bridges, dams, health facilities and schools), among others.
