Kadre Gueye, captain of the Black Bulls, was awarded the best player of the first round of Moçambola 2024, at a gala promoted by the Mozambican Football League and sponsored by HCB.
As a prize, he received from the Secretary of State for Sport, Gilberto Mendes, the sum of 125,000 meticais offered by Hidroeléctrica de Cahora Bassa (HCB), the company sponsoring the awards for the best of Mozambique-2024.
The Black Bulls midfielder has been one of the keys to their formation and it's through him that Tchumene's attacking moves come. He defends a lot, attacks well and scores a lot of goals.
Kadre Gueye, beat off competition from international and captain Mambas Dominguês, from UD de Songo, who came second, and Chester, from Costa do Sol, who came third, according to the eligibility criteria defined by the Mozambican Football League.
Elias Macamo, a player from Desportivo de Nacala, was also awarded top scorer in Moçambola with nine goals in the first round.
In fact, it was Macamo himself who scored the second goal that secured victory for the Mambas against Guine Bissau on Tuesday afternoon at the Estadio de Zimpeto and secured the precious three points in the race for CAN 2025.
Costa do Sol's Joaquim Tsambe finished as the best goalkeeper of the first round, having conceded six goals in 10 games, beating off competition from goalkeepers such as Ernan, Ivan and Fazito, all of whom are in the national team.
Ema Novo was crowned the best referee of the first round for her good performances in the matches she was called upon to referee.
The award for best coach of the first round went to Hélder Duarte, of the Black Bulls. All the winners at this gala, with the exception of the best player, received a cash prize of 100,000 meticais, also offered by HCB.
The Gala party for the first round of Moçambola took place last night at the Joaquim Chissano Conference Center in Maputo City.
