The quantities of limestone that abound in the northern districts of Gaza province are being assessed with a view to their possible exploitation.

According to Rádio Moçambique, samples have already been taken and will be submitted for evaluation to assess not only the quantity but also the quality of the ore.

According to information sources, there are miners in the districts of Massingir, Mabalane, Mapai, Chicuálacuala, Massangena and Chigubo.

The head of the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy at the Provincial Infrastructure Service in Gaza, Jerónimo Mutisse, says that if the result of the samples is positive, investors will be mobilized to exploit the limestone in those districts.

Jerónimo Mutisse assures that if limestone mining is carried out in Gaza, the province could have some cement manufacturing industries.
