On Monday (17), the Bank of Mozambique (BdM) launched the "Metical" mobile app, for smartphones and tablets, at no cost to the user, in which the "2024 Series" of Metical notes, which came into circulation on June 16, is presented.

The app, according to a BdM press release, will allow users to interactively learn about the security features of this series of Metical banknotes, which consists of 1000, 500 and 200 Metical banknotes produced on a paper substrate, and 100, 50 and 20 Metical banknotes on a polymer substrate.

"Users can download and install this application, available in Portuguese and English, on their mobile device via the Apple Store or Google Play Store," the document states, noting that this series will circulate simultaneously with the series of banknotes and coins issued since July 1, 2006.
