The Mozambican economy could slow down to 4.7% in 2025, influenced by the expected reduction in the extractive sector due to reaching maximum production capacity, indicates the Medium-Term Fiscal Scenario (MTFF) document up to 2027.

Likewise, according to the document quoted by Noticias, in the agricultural and transport and communications sectors, due to the climatic effects that affect their performance.

According to the 2025-2027 strategy document, approved this month by the Council of Ministers, the government admits, based on current projections, moderate growth in Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

The CFMP forecasts that Mozambique's GDP will increase from 1.322 trillion meticais in 2023 to 1.536 trillion meticais this year, growing to 1.637 trillion meticais in 2025.

In 2026, the government forecasts real GDP growth of 4.5 %, which could rise to 5.8% in 2027, driven by natural gas production projects.
