Frelimo's presidential candidate, Daniel Chapo, believes that the legacy of the founders of the Republic should serve as inspiration for young people to build a new and more prosperous future.
Speaking last Thursday (23) at a popular meeting in the Chingodzi district of Tete province, in the center of the country, Daniel Chapo added that Frelimo believes in the strength of the youth to bring a new dynamic to Mozambique's development. The candidate was officially presented by Filipe Jacinto Nyusi, the president of Frelimo.
"We're going to unite with Frelimo, we're going to unite with Chapo and vote en masse on October 9 and as a result we'll continue to develop Mozambique. We're a generation that received the relay and we're going to continue," said Daniel Chapo, quoted by the newspaper SAVANA.
According to the ruling party's presidential candidate, he added that in order to guarantee such development, it is necessary to invest in quality education.
"To improve this quality, we also need to evaluate education in our country. As a result, we will change what is necessary and build more schools. This sector is the basis of our development," he stressed.
Daniel Chapo has shown that he is open to listening to civil servants as a consultation mechanism, with a view to adopting better strategies for his government, should he be elected in the next elections.
"When we start the electoral campaign, we're going to meet with our comrades in the civil service; the teachers, the nurses, the doctors and everyone else, so that we can have contributions and enrich what we have to do to work together," promised Daniel Chapo.
The Frelimo candidate also recognizes that more roads need to be built to facilitate the movement of people and goods. "There is no development without infrastructure, especially roads and bridges. Quality roads that can connect the production areas, where our brothers, our fathers, our mothers are producing food so that they can get it to the city, to the markets and sell it at will."
Industry was not left out of Daniel Chapo's speech in Tete either. He stressed that industry must be able to respond to the country's current needs and understand the demands of the world. He stressed that industrializing Mozambique means boosting one of the biggest factors in development, the youth. "Developing industry allows young people to have jobs".
On corruption, a phenomenon that is growing by leaps and bounds in Mozambique
Daniel Chapo has promised a relentless fight, saying that he will work to stop the evil.
"The public purse is for all Mozambicans. There needs to be transparency, we want people who know that they are there to serve the people and not to serve themselves," said Daniel Chapo.
