The President of the Republic (PR), Filipe Nyusi, warned on Friday (15) in Maputo of the risk of Mozambicans losing their homeland due to the lack of unity in the fight against terrorism.
"Terrorism can divide us. If the world unites to fight terrorism, why shouldn't those of us who live through it? We must be united. If we play games, we could end up without a homeland. That's what they want," questioned the PR.
Speaking at the graduation ceremony at the Academy of Police Sciences (ACIPOL), Filipe Nyusi criticized the voices that supposedly take advantage of the situation of instability in the north of the country to "politicize" the situation.

In the PR's view, such voices are promoting division among Mozambicans and devaluing the efforts of those who give their lives for the country.
"We can't lose focus. We must remain united in this country. The enemy exists and we have to hit them as hard as we can, otherwise we're going to stampede. Today [the enemy is there], but tomorrow it could be here," he warned.
