Absa Bank já capacitou mais de 18 mil jovens para o mercado de trabalho

Since 2016, Absa Bank Mozambique has trained more than 18,000 young Mozambicans for the job market through the Ready to Work program.

This initiative aims to provide young people with strategic tools for the transition from academic life to the professional world, as well as promoting the development of interpersonal skills, communication skills, financial, business and professional skills, which are fundamental for starting their careers.

Speaking on Wednesday at the launch of the 8th edition of the program, Absa Bank Moçambique's People and Culture director stressed that by developing initiatives like this, the bank is constantly investing in the training of young Mozambicans and in ideas that can have a positive impact on the lives of this social strata.

"Ready to Work is much more than a program, it's a commitment we have to Mozambican youth. We believe that by equipping them with professional, interpersonal, financial and entrepreneurial skills, we can ensure that these young people are prepared for today's demanding job market and have solid foundations to respond to the issues of the future job market," said Hanifa Hassangy.

Since 2023, training has taken place using a hybrid model, in which face-to-face sessions were held in Maputo, Gaza and Inhambane, reaching nearly 3,500 young people in just three months.

On the same occasion, Absa Bank Mozambique's Marketing and Corporate Relations Director, Tânia Oliveira, said that Ready to Wok has become a benchmark program for Mozambican youth, highlighting the 8th edition as a unique opportunity that will provide participants with an even more exciting, functional and productive day.

"For 2024 we want to be more impactful and reach at least 5,000 young people. We plan to be present in the center of the country, specifically in Zambézia, Tete, Manica and Sofala, working in collaboration with different partners, namely universities, secondary and polytechnic institutes, secondary schools where we find 12th grade finalists and, why not, young people who haven't graduated but want to transform their professional journey," he added.

For Pedro Mendes, director of Flow Group, the company that runs the program in partnership with Absa Bank Mozambique, this initiative "has a positive impact on young people's personal lives and professional careers".
