Payment system operators have five days to notify the WB of insolvency risks

The proposal to revise the National Payment System Law, published by the Bank of Mozambique (BM), stipulates that payment system operators in the country must report risks of insolvency or inability to meet their financial obligations within five days.

During this period, operators will also be able to notify the WB of impediments, obstructions or limitations to access to the infrastructures used in the course of their activities, among other things.

These reports are mandatory as part of the Central Bank's work to mitigate credit and liquidity risks.

According to NewsUnder the previous law, institutions were only required to communicate to the BM the information they deemed necessary for verification, such as their degree of liquidity and solvency, the risks they are taking, security processes and so on...
