The municipal authorities of Beira, in Sofala, are strengthening cooperation ties with the United Arab Emirates with a view to local socio-economic development.
In fact, memorandums of understanding will be signed with the city council in the next few days.
This Saturday, a group of businesspeople from that Asian country visited the city of Beira in order, among other things, to assess investment opportunities in the areas of technology, industry and construction.
On the occasion, the representative of the Asian businessmen, Jeffey Simith, quoted by Rádio de Moçambique, said that the city of Beira is a strategic point for development in Africa, hence the interest in investing in the region.
For his part, the mayor of Beira, Albano Carige, stressed the importance of securing foreign funding for the city in order to continue with its sustainable and resilient development.
