Fly Modern Ark (FAM) says it will increase the salaries of employees of Mozambique Airlines (LAM) by 11%, at a time when the company has been sharing with the public the results of its activity in the company.
FMA is the company hired by the government to restructure LAM, which was on the verge of bankruptcy. The company says that it found LAM to have mismanaged its debts. These would have been reduced from 1.7 billion meticais to 1.2 billion meticais thanks to FMA's success.
That's why, writes EvidenceLast week, the CEO of FMA, Theunis Crous, promised to increase the salaries of LAM workers from next October. This would have been one of the notes left by Crous during a conversation with journalists.
On that occasion, the FMA revealed that at the beginning of the year, the directors of LAM decided to increase the salaries of the directors by 100,000 meticais on their own. The FMA's measure in response was to force the return of the undue salaries.
