Government says TSU consumed 180 billion Meticais

Governo diz que TSU consumiu 180 mil milhões de Meticais

The implementation of the Single Wage Table (TSU) has raised the remuneration budget from 154.4 billion Meticais to 185.3 billion Meticais, corresponding to an increase of 20%, which requires a huge effort from the government.

The information was made public today by the Minister of Economy and Finance, Max Tonela, in response to questions at the government briefing.

Quoted by the newspaper Domingo, Tonela pointed out that as a result of the implementation of the Single Wage Scale, a considerable number of civil servants, around 88%, have had their salaries increased.

He clarified that the technical team is still working to respond to any complaints from employees who are being harmed by the implementation of the TSU.

At this point the debate continues with the deputies asking insistent questions. Alberto Ferreira of Renamo demanded that members of the provincial assemblies be entitled to a monthly salary, not an attendance fee as established in the TSU. Feliz Sílvia from Frelimo said that the members of the provincial assemblies continue to earn their salaries in the institutions where they work.
