The European Union (EU) will invest around 428 million euros over the next few years in key development areas in the country, in an initiative in line with the Mozambican government's priorities.
These are the areas of democracy and human rights, infrastructure and energy, education, youth and digitalization, gender issues, environment and climate, as well as trade and investment within the national market.
The implementation of these projects is supported by the cooperation instrument and a multi-annual program (2021-2027) between the EU and Mozambique, with a budget of 428 million euros for the first four years.
Recently, the EU ambassador to Mozambique, Antonino Maggiore, announced that the Union will invest 190 million euros by next year in renewable energy production projects in the Mozambican market with a view to exploiting the vast potential that exists in our country.
