The Minister of Mineral Resources and Energy, Carlos Zacarias, invited British businessmen to invest in the construction of the Mphanda Nkuwa Hydroelectric Power Station, projected to generate 1500 Megawatts of energy.
Zacarias made the invitation at a panel discussion at Chathan House, in London, United Kingdom, on the role of the energy sector as a catalyst for diversification and development in Mozambique, which was attended by journalists, businessmen, and local government officials.
"This is a structuring and fundamental project for the energy transition and will meet the consumption needs of national industry, consolidate Mozambique's position as a power generation pole in the region and increase revenue generation capacity" said Zacarias quoted by the press.
Also in this panel, the minister referred to the country's potential in new and renewable energies, namely hydro, wind and solar, to meet domestic and regional needs.
