The Portuguese company Matosmix - Nutrição Animal came to public accuse the new Russian McDonald's of the chain 'Vkusno & Tochaka' ("tasty and ready"), of having copied its logo.
The first "Russian McDonald's" opened its doors on Sunday in Moscow in an attempt to replace the American fast-food chain, which left the country due to the war.
Its logo is (really) very similar to that of a Portuguese company that produces animal feed. The coincidence was noticed by the international press, which was the first to accuse the Russian chain of having stolen the logo from the Portuguese company Matosmix.
The Portuguese company's logo has a grain of corn on the left and two bars on the right that suggest two leaves, all in green, but on a white background. In the same order, the Russian company has, "in place" of the corn kernel, a red dot which suggests that it is a sauce, and "in place" of the leaves it has what appears to be two slices of potato French fries, on a green background.
Matosmix rules out any associations with the new Russian brand.
Matosmix is a manufacturer of animal feed - namely poultry, beef and dairy cattle, rabbits, horses, pigs, sheep and goats.
