In the country, 81,000 solar home systems have been assembled in the last three months with the help of SNV, a Dutch development organization, as part of the implementation of the Shine program.

The energy sector manager at SNV- Mozambique, Javier Ayala, said that during the period in reference, about 30,000 improved cooking solutions were also created, to the benefit of half a million Mozambicans with access to electric and thermal energy.

Javier Ayala mentioned that there are short-term goals to be achieved so that more populations have access to these electrical system energy solutions.

Javier Ayala explained that the five-year, nationwide Shine program aims to catalyze the energy market.

According to Ayala, the idea is to promote and support business initiatives that can provide clean and affordable energy solutions to the population and companies, in a competitive and sustainable way.
