NEPAD guarantees funding for youth initiatives in Mozambique

The New Partnership for Africa's Development (NEPAD) will fund youth initiatives in the country. According to an announcement made this Monday in Maputo, the initial fund is about one million dollars, with prospects of increasing for a period of 2022/2027, aimed at young people in rural areas..

The information was given at the opening of the Validation Seminar of the Operationalization of the Employment Policy Action Plan.

The Secretary of State for Youth and Employment, Oswaldo Petersburg, quoted by Radio Mozambique, assured that the executive will continue to mobilize support for young people in the country.

"In welcoming the intervention initiative in Mozambique by the African Union Development Agency, focusing on youth living in rural areas, we did so in the certainty that rural areas, given their specific social and economic characteristics, deserve special and dedicated attention as we have been doing in different active measures," said Oswaldo Petersburg.

The Seminar, which runs until today, counts with the participation of young beneficiaries of the programs My Kit, My Job, Fund for Support to Youth Initiatives and Creative Youth Award.
