Taptap Send launches operations in Mozambique

A Taptap Send lança operações em Moçambique

Taptap Send, a platform that allows people to transfer money from Europe, and North America to Africa, Asia and the Caribbean quickly, conveniently, securely and at competitive prices, recently launched its operations for Mozambique.

The application, which is already in operation for Mozambique, makes transfers directly to M-Pesa, the only mobile wallet with which it is associated, so far in the national territory.

The representative of Taptap Send Mozambique, Adriano Sênvano Júnior said that Taptap Send has just entered Mozambique, with the objective of bringing more value both to Mozambicans in the diaspora and those living in the country as the product evolves.

"It is a great honor to serve our brothers and sisters living abroad and those living in Mozambique with a financial product that is very fast, convenient, secure, and fee-free, and that is being driven into the country by Mozambicans just like them," said Adriano Senvano Junior.

"We are Community-First in our approach to improving and distributing the product, making sure that people feel that this is being done by one of their own where it is unquestionable that we care about each and every Mozambican today, tomorrow and forever," he added.

The ODM representative, Pedro Fernandes, said, in turn, that this partnership is of extreme importance, since it can contribute to the development of Mozambique's economy.

"For us, it has significant importance because this platform implies sending money quickly, conveniently, without fees and with security to all of Mozambique. Including sending money to rural areas," Fernandes said.

According to him, the recipients no longer need a smartphone or a bank account to be able to access this help that people living abroad want to bring to Mozambique. The farmer there, in the interior of Gaza or another province, only needs to have a simple cell phone, as long as he has an M-Pesa account, he can access his money and use it in a minute or less after it is sent from abroad.

Remittances are a significant part of African economies, contributing to over 5% of GDP in many African countries. As a result of the pandemic, Africans have leaned more than ever before to provide support to their countries through accessible digital financial platforms.

Taptap Send has experienced tremendous growth during this time, and is an increasingly important worldwide remittance agent.
Remittances help hundreds of thousands of Mozambican families pay for essential needs such as health care, household bills, and education.

Taptap Send is already being used within the Mozambican community all over the world, operating in a legal and transparent way everywhere it is present. It is currently operating in 12 sending destinations in Europe and North America, and 24 receiving destinations in Africa, Asia and the Caribbean.

Mozambicans in the diaspora can find Taptap Send in the Apple Store and Google Store.
