Government guarantees to continue to facilitate initiatives to boost cooperation with Malawi

The Mozambican government will continue to facilitate initiatives aimed at boosting cooperation with Malawi. The position was reiterated this Thursday by the President of the Republic, Filipe Nyusi, in Matambo, Changara district, Tete province, at the laying of the first stone for the construction of the Mozambique-Malawi interconnection power line.

The act was attended by the Malawian statesman, Larazus Chakwera, who began a working visit to Mozambique.

This afternoon, Filipe Nyusi and Lazarus Chakwera were briefed on the stage of the rehabilitation and expansion works of the port of Nacala, in Nampula.

The two Ministers' trip to Nacala aims to strengthen the ties of cooperation between Mozambique and Malawi, in the area of transport and communications, especially in the use of that port infrastructure.

The President of the Republic of Malawi is in Mozambique for a 4-day state visit.
