Montepuez Ruby Mining (MRM) was distinguished as the best contributor to Cabo Delgado province in 2021.

The distinction was awarded, on Saturday, by the Secretary of State in Cabo Delgado province, António Supeia, who highlighted the importance of the project in the province's development.

To date, revenues from 15 auctions of rubies mined at Namanhumbir total $731.5 million, of which $88.4 million derives from those held in December 2021, a record amount for MRM and expected to result in a contribution to the state treasury of approximately $7 million.
