Government and private companies delimit areas for water distribution

The government signed on Thursday a memorandum of understanding with the Association of Mozambican Water Suppliers (AFORAMO) which determines that in places where private companies are operating, the public sector should not intervene.

The move follows concerns that had recently been raised by private operators that FIPAG was diverting their clients.

The new agreement clarifies that there will be no overlap of the public and private water supply network.
