UN Women trains more than 900 women under the Peace and Development Project

A total of 960 women from Sofala province were this Monday graduated in different vocational areas under the Peace and Development Project. This action promoted by UN Women is based on the training of women living in armed conflict zones in different areas of economic activity.

According to UN Women's Program Officer, Moisés Kakano, the group of women who graduated this Monday is the third since the project's implementation in the central region began.

"The training courses are provided by Zambezi University, lasting six months, and the beneficiaries are equipped with knowledge for the labor market," said Moisés Kakano, stressing that "the women receive work tools from the training areas, after the training.

These women are trained in the areas of agriculture, beekeeping, fish farming, electricity, cutting and sewing, cooking, mechanics, and civil construction.
