Mozambique may achieve 2.9 % GDP growth next year

The government forecasts that the country will achieve next year a gross domestic product growth of 2.9%, and a $5 billion in exports.

The draft law for the Economic and Social Plan and State Budget for 2022, approved yesterday in an extraordinary session of the Council of Ministers, also estimates that state revenues for 2022 will be around 293 billion meticals, while public sector expenses may consume more than 450 billion meticals.

The government proposal to be submitted to Parliament, presents a budget deficit of more than 157 billion meticais, the equivalent of 14% of the gross domestic product.
