"Let me use this noble opportunity to salute the presence and delivery of friendly forces who, at your side, together successfully fight the global enemy, terrorism. I also salute your steadfastness in fighting and preventing the pandemic of COVID-19, which with your determination leaves no highlight story in your being. On this subject of COVID-19, later today, at 7:30 pm, from Pemba, I will update the decree of the Council of Ministers that defines the necessary measures", said the President of the Republic.

Currently, Mozambique has a positivity rate of 16.8%, a cumulative 1 906 deaths, 149 911 infected and still 146 090 virus-free individuals. At this time, there are 2,280 active cases of COVID-19.

Filipe Nyusi announced his announcement in Nampula, where in his capacity as Commander-in-Chief of the Defense and Security Forces (FDS), he received the salute of the Higher Command of the FADM, at the Marechal Samora Moisés Machel Military Academy, on the occasion of the Day of the Armed Defense Forces of Mozambique.
