Government provides 1.9 million dollars to make aquaculture projects viable

About 1.9 million dollars, corresponding to more than 130 million meticais is the amount to be disbursed this year for the viability of sustainable aquaculture projects in the country.

The amount will be applied for the productivity component of small-scale aquaculture and management of institutional and policy development projects.

Ivone Lichucha, technician from the Ministry of Sea, Inland Waters and Fisheries, explained that eligible entrepreneurs will share 6% of the amount.

"In the first production cycle, we will provide fingerlings, feed, and inputs so that the producers can start their production activities," he said.
