LAM's electronic sales increased by 19% in the first half of 2021

Vendas electrónicas da LAM aumentaram em 19% no primeiro semestre de 2021

Linhas Aéreas de Moçambique (LAM), through its electronic sales channels, recorded growth over the first six months of the current year, driven by the preference in online purchases, due to the emergence of new covid-19.

Data presented by the airline, quoted by "O País", show an increase in online sales of 19% in the first half of 2021, compared to 2020. Also, on this platform, the "online check-in" service, recorded an increase of 73%, with 54 751 passengers who signed up for this service, in the first half of 2021 against 31 699 passengers, of 2020.

Meanwhile, during the month of July, LAM recorded an operational punctuality index of 88%, for a universe of 698 departures, which means an increase of 10 percentage points in relation to the month of June, where the punctuality recorded was 78% for a total of 656 departures. Among the stopovers analyzed in the period, the highlights were Chimoio, Inhambane and Vilankulo, all with 100% and Johannesburg with 97% punctuality.

Regarding passengers, LAM points out that the company transported in July 2021 a total of 32 284 passengers, compared to 37 952 passengers carried in the previous month of June, thus representing a decrease of 15%. In the same period of 2020 (July), LAM carried 14 721 passengers.

On the revenue side, there was a decrease of 18% in July compared to June 2021. However, when comparing with the same period in 2020, there was a growth of 108%.

The five routes with the highest passenger traffic were Maputo-Nampula-Maputo, with 6,722; Maputo-Beira-Maputo, with 6,037; Maputo-Tete-Maputo, with 3,675; Maputo-Pemba-Maputo with 3,948 and Maputo-Quelimane-Maputo, with 3,034.
