Turkey plans to support Mozambique in the fight against terrorism

The Turkish government wants to support Mozambique in the fight against terrorism in Cabo Delgado province. Turkey also intends to cooperate with the country in developing social projects to boost socio-economic growth..

The interest was expressed this Wednesday, in Maputo, by the Turkish Ambassador to Mozambique, OVNI EKSOI, after being received, in an audience, by the President of the Assembly of the Republic, Esperança Bias.

Oriel Chemane, spokesman for the President of the Parliament, explained that the Turkish interest in supporting the fight against terrorism represents the strengthening of the existing friendship between the two countries.

On this occasion, Esperança Bias asked the diplomat, as the representative of the Turkish State in Mozambique, to work to increase the existing cooperation relations between the two countries and peoples, including the parliamentary area.

For his part, the Ambassador of Turkey in Mozambique said that his country intends to see improved relations of friendship and cooperation between the two countries in the economic and commercial areas, with the creation of a Mozambican embassy in the capital city of Turkey, Ankara.

"Besides the commercial and economic areas we have the counter-terrorism camp in Cabo Delgado that we intend to help Mozambique fight the insurgents, because we know how important it is for the country" said the Ambassador, adding that "Turkey intends to invest in the areas of agriculture, tourism and industrial development, taking Mozambican entrepreneurs so that there is a mutual gain between the two countries," said the diplomat.

PAR also requested that the Turkish Ambassador carry the message of further rapprochement between the two countries and peoples.
