This week, the Sixth Criminal Chamber of the Maputo City Judicial Court sentenced South African citizen Patrick Vusumuzi Skosana, 56, to 14 years in prison for kidnapping and possession of prohibited weapons.

Tried in criminal case no. 7/2024, the defendant had been charged with the crime of prohibited weapons, punishable under the terms of article 226(1), in addition to a crime of kidnapping that took place inside the Charlot Cinema on October 3, 2023, in the attempted form, punishable under the terms of articles 197, 17 and 18, all of the Penal Code, respectively.

According to a NewsWhen he was arrested, he was found with two pistols, a cell phone and a Toyota Sienta car, which were seized and transferred to the Mozambican state.
