Tmcel tries to reach new debt agreements with creditors

Tmcel tenta chegar a novos acordos sobre dívida com credores

The Administrator of the Institute for the Management of State Holdings (IGEPE), Tomás Dimande, said last week that Tmcel's debt with banks and creditors should be renegotiated next year.

Speaking at the Assembly of the Republic, he did not reveal the amounts involved.

The aim of the measure is to guarantee the telecommunications company's financial stability. It is also intended, in the short term, to make the company profitable.

The impact of debt reduction will only be seen in later years.

The company will undergo an operational and financial restructuring, including contracts to cover costs, according to the News.

All the work underway and that yet to be carried out focuses on investment in the expansion and modernization of the country's mobile network infrastructure.
