Telegram has announced that its messaging app now has a total of 700 million monthly active users, taking the moment to unveil a subscription to the service, writes Noticias ao Minuto.

Telegram Premium will allow subscribers to send files up to 4GB in size (previously this was limited to 2GB), faster transfers, and feature exclusive stickers and reactions.

Members of this subscription will also be able to follow 1,000 channels, more than the 500 to which users using the free version of Telegram are limited.

In the publication announcing the subscription, Telegram notes that all the features that users have become accustomed to seeing on the platform will continue to be available for free. "All existing features that users have gotten used to and used for almost a decade will continue to be free," the publication reads.

Telegram Premium subscription is available for €5.49.
