Sofala: Sector de construção civil debate qualidade de obras pública

The Association of Civil Construction and Public Works Contractors (AECOP) in Sofala has been debating the quality and resistance of buildings, roads and bridges in the face of climate change since yesterday in the city of Beira.

The meeting, which brings together different players involved in architecture and construction, will discuss various topics, with emphasis on the vulnerability of infrastructures in tropical cyclone, earthquake, flood and drought environments.

Yesterday, at the opening of the event, the president of AECOP in Sofala, Mário Amaral, explained that in order for there to be quality infrastructure, "each player must act responsibly", emphasizing that "new constructions must be based on resistance standards".

Meanwhile, today, the last day of the meeting, memorandums of understanding will be signed between the Sofala Civil Construction and Public Works Contractors Association, UniZambeze and RS Servicˈs- Engenharia e Arquitectura.
