The Rector of the Catholic University of Mozambique, Filipe Sungo, criticizes what he calls the normalization of terrorism and calls for the government and society as a whole to get involved in finding solutions.
The academic and priest also warns of the need to seek peaceful solutions and not just rely on the power of arms.
The Rector of the Catholic University of Mozambique was speaking during the graduation ceremony for new graduates in Nacala, but he took the opportunity to voice his indignation at the way terrorism, which has its epicenter in Cabo Delgado, is viewed, according to “O País”.
Sungo advocates the involvement of the government and society as a whole in the search for solutions, which he believes go beyond the use of weapons.
The source recalls the ravages of war, the most serious of which was the brutal killing of people, especially young people, who could have contributed to the country's development.
The graduation ceremony took place this Wednesday at the Nacala extension, marking the end of a cycle of higher education in various courses taught by the Catholic University of Mozambique.
