Who is the African "trillionaire" who wants to buy Chelsea FC?

Quem é o “trilionário” africano que quer comprar o Chelsea FC?

The Russian-Ukrainian war is affecting the world in many ways, from the obvious to the unimaginable. In fact, the sanctions imposed by the West are extending the impact of the clashes to other areas. From one side to the other, the world is seeing and experiencing the domino effect of each sanction applied.

After several crackdowns on Moscow's economy - still ongoing - the West has decided to target tycoons of Russian origin with possible ties to the Kremlin. Among the richest men in Russia is the owner of the English soccer club, Chelsea FC, Roman Abramovich.

Already under pressure to give in to the sanctions against Russia that have fallen upon him, Abramovich has decided to sell Chelsea FC for three billion dollars, plus one billion in add-ons - a figure that the public considers reasonable or even fair.

Surely, many investors are interested in the club, which is by far one of the most profitable in the world. But not by a long shot, with everything that is happening in Europe, would we think that an African businessman would move in to take over the club.

Yes, anything is possible! You see, the Ghanaian businessman, owner of gold mines and much more, has expressed his interest in buying Chelsea FC. Bernard Antwi Boasiako has thus put himself on the list of so many billionaires who have already shown interest in buying the Stamford Bridge club.

"Those who buy clubs are not footballers, but businessmen. I am also a businessman. I am interested in gold mining," he told Ghana's Wontumi FM radio station, questioning "why can't we buy the club?"

Boasiako has revealed his ambitious plans to buy the club and has already named three of the world's top players he would like to sign and one he would look to sell.

"I want to join the bidding. If I become the owner, I want Real Madrid's Brazilian player Vinicius Jr. and sell Romelu Lukaku," he advanced.

"I will talk to Manchester United to see if I can also buy Cristiano Ronaldo for Chelsea. I will also look into signing Lionel Messi," he said.

Bernard Antwi Boasiako, age 46, is a politician, owner of a gold mine and a radio station. The investor, also known as "President Wontumi", has until March 15, to submit a bid to buy Chelsea FC.

Boasiako's net worth is estimated to be in the trillions of dollars. It is not known for sure how much he owns, but in an interview he reportedly said that the "known" $400,000 trillion represents a small amount of his fortune. And, if true, how many "Chelsea's FC's" could he buy?

"I want to buy Chelsea Football Club," he said.
