Queda de helicóptero na Índia provoca sete mortos

Seven people, including a baby, died this Sunday in India when a helicopter carrying pilgrims crashed in the Indian Himalayas, authorities said.

The accident occurred three days after the crash of an Air India Boeing, which killed at least 279 people.

According to the agency AFPThe pilot of the helicopter and the six pilgrims were returning from Kedarnath when the crash happened.

The accident, which follows a similar one in May, was allegedly caused by adverse weather conditions.

The Kedarnath temple, dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva, is located at an altitude of 3,584 meters and is frequented by pilgrims from all over the country during the summer. Although accessible after several hours of hiking more than 22 kilometers in altitude, the temple has also been accessed by helicopter.
