The Italian oil company ENI guarantees that, by June 2022, it will start production and storage of liquefied natural gas in area 4 of the Rovuma basin, in Cabo Delgado. The information was advanced by Stefano Maione, ENI's Director of Development, Operations, and Energy Efficiency.

Moione, who was speaking on Monday about the official reception of the liquefied natural gas exploration platform by the Mozambican Head of State, Filipe Nyusi, in the Republic of South Korea, said that the project will place Mozambique among the largest producers of liquefied natural gas in the world.

To this end, work is underway on the installation of subsea production systems, the pre-settlement of mooring, drilling and completion of all six production wells, with execution at 96%.

It should be noted that the Coral South FLNG Project is implemented by the Area 4 concessionaires in the Rovuma Basin, led by ENI, which as part of its exploration and production activities have discovered 77 trillion cubic feet of natural gas.
