The Minister for Public Works, Housing and Water Resources, Carlos Mesquita, announced a few days ago that rehabilitation work on National Road Number One will begin this year, including the Inchope/Metoro stretch.

Quoted in a press release sent to our newsroom, Mesquita said that the first phase includes several lots and only the contractor with the lowest price among those technically capable will be hired.

It should be noted that the first phase of funding was approved last August, for 400 million dollars, for a 508 km intervention along the EN1, and the amount became effective on December 15, 2022.

However, for the first phase of the N1 rehabilitation program, the strategy for contracting the project, which will culminate in the preparation of the tender documents, was approved on July 7.
