AT president demands social services that meet the needs of employees

Presidente da AT exige serviços sociais que respondam às necessidades dos funcionários

On Thursday morning (17), the President of the Mozambican Tax Authority (AT), Aníbal Joaquim Mbalango, held a working meeting with a multidisciplinary team with the aim of analyzing the main challenges facing the institution's Social Affairs area and proposing sustainable solutions that meet the needs of employees.

The President of AT highlighted the strategic importance of social support services for the well-being of employees and, consequently, for the performance of the institution itself.

"AT's main mission is to collect public revenue, in a fair and transparent way, so that the Mozambican state can respond to the country's collective needs. For this mission to be successful, it is essential that our employees feel valued and have their social needs properly taken care of," he said.

During the speeches, the Director of Human Resources, Lizeth Matsimbe, stressed that "employee satisfaction is essential for fulfilling the noble mission of the Tax Authority, and it is necessary to meet their essential needs satisfactorily".

The Deputy Executive Director of the Association of AT Employees (AFATRIM), Adriano Sumbana, acknowledged that the association still doesn't have the desired impact on employees' lives and advocated greater coordination between AFATRIM and the Social Affairs services.

"We need to work together to find solutions that will ease the burden on employees, especially with regard to health costs," he said.

The President of the AT has instructed the Human Resources Directorate to set up a national working committee, including representatives from central and regional services, with the aim of assessing the current state of the functional mobility policy and proposing concrete improvements.
