Portugal vs Macedonia is a "matter of life and death", says CR7

Portugal vs Macedónia é uma “questão de vida ou morte”, diz CR7

The Portuguese national soccer team will host its Macedonian counterpart today at the Estádio do Dragão, in the city of Porto, for the final of the play off for access to the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

About the match, the captain of the national team said: "I want all hell to break loose in Dragao".

This will probably be Manchester United striker Ronaldo's last chance at a World Cup, unless he plays until he is 41.

"For us, this game is a matter of life and death. There is a responsibility to win this game. For us, it is also a game of our lives," said CR7 quoted by the BBC, acknowledging that the Macedonians "have surprised [opponents] in many games, but I believe they will not surprise us."

Ronaldo is the all-time leading scorer in men's international soccer with 115 goals, including seven in four World Cups.

He led his country to glory at Euro 2016, but this will probably be his last chance to win a World Cup.

"Who will decide my future is me," Ronaldo said. "If I want to play more, I'll play. If I don't want to, I won't play."
