The Attorney General of the Republic (PR) will present her report on the general situation of justice in Mozambique over two days, Wednesday (19) and Thursday (20), at the Assembly of the Republic (AR) in Maputo.
According to the newspaper SundayBeatriz Buchili will focus on the cases of companies registered in the names of Mozambican citizens suspected of financing terrorism in Cabo Delgado. This stems from the existence of private institutions that use mobile wallets to transfer money to citizens in some districts of the province, including Muidumbe, Palma, Nangade, Macomia and Quissanga, which have already suffered terrorist attacks.
In the same vein, the prosecutor is expected to talk about the creation of front companies belonging to national citizens, but whose investment is foreign, with the aim of repatriating foreign currency and laundering money.
Buchili's report should also include the need to create and pass more laws to combat terrorism and money laundering.
With a view to remedying these actions, parliamentarians hope to see activities to identify and dismantle the network that gives national documents to foreign citizens without all the legal requirements being met.
Among other things, the prosecutor is expected to present clarifications on the situation of crimes in general, the revision of the labor law, public contracts and the control of legality.
