New Democracy flirts with voting for Manuel de Araújo as governor of Zambézia

Nova Democracia namora eleitorado para votar em Manuel de Araújo como governador da Zambézia

The brigades of the New Democracy Party (ND) are fanning out through the neighborhoods of Quelimane in search of votes to ensure the election of the Renamo candidate to the post of governor of Zambézia, in the center of the country.

According to the provincial delegate of this political grouping, Isac Livro, "the appeal is to reinforce the mechanism for raising awareness in order to garner sympathy among the population, to vote for the New Democracy party, for the legislative elections, "but we are also publicizing the motivations for voting for the Renamo list for the provincial assembly on the one hand and, on the other, for the independent presidential candidate, Venâncio Mondlane".

"We want the election of Manuel de Araújo as governor of Zambézia and Venâncio Mondlane as president, because New Democracy will be in the parliament of the Assembly of the Republic printing legislative reforms for a state of law and democracy," added Livro, in a publication by the AIM.

According to the source, the context of the Mozambican parliament has never offered guarantees for the implementation of the basic interests of the people.

He assured that the desired change in the political chessboard lies in the popular will expressed through the vote in the assemblies to be able to confer legitimacy on the elected government to design creative public policies and social justice, among other areas.
